Reverse Snow Angel

Step 1 - Lie face down with arms at your sides, palms facing down

Step 2 - Lift your chest slightly off the ground

Step 3 - Sweep your arms out to the sides and overhead in an arc motion

Step 4 - Return arms to starting position, maintaining chest lift

Recommended Sets & Time:

  • Beginner: 2-3 sets of 10-15 reps, 45 seconds rest

Intermediate: 3-4 sets of 15-20 reps, 30 seconds rest

Advanced: 4-5 sets of 20-25 reps, 30 seconds rest

What to Focus On:

  • Upper back squeeze - You should feel your shoulder blades pulling together as you sweep your arms

  • Chest elevation - Keep your chest lifted off the ground throughout the entire arm movement

  • Smooth arm motion - Create a flowing arc with your arms, like making a snow angel in reverse

  • Rear shoulder work - Feel the back of your shoulders working to move your arms

Modifications:

  • Easier: Perform the arm sweeps with your chest resting on the ground

  • Harder: Pause for 2 seconds at the top of each arm sweep while maintaining chest lift
